Every day I see someone trying to optimise their life with a new app, a new system, a new productivity stack. But the systems that tend to hold true turn out to be the ones already there, just unnamed. And the same is true in the work I've watched people do — across big companies and small ones, public sector and private, places thriving and places struggling. The bits that work were designed, even if no one called it that.

So I'm writing a book about what happens when you point human-centred design at two domains people don't usually consider connected: family life, and what people do for work. Same method. Two tracks. One book. The working title is The Designs You Didn't Know You Made.
